Banana freckles

The other day I happened to be in a supermarket. On the ‘Get It Out Of Here ASAP’ shelve, I found this lost banana. It has to be spotless and very yellow for ‘us’ to be inviting enough to consume it. The price had dropped so far it hovered near a ‘give-it-away-for-free’ status. I bought it, of course, not because it was cheap, but because every high-end, upscale restaurant would serve this as the perfectly ripe, sugar-spot, freckled banana. Human beings can be very odd indeed.
