Food for Thought?

When listening to other languages, it’s easy to make humongous mistakes. For example, when I heard a woman declare ‘The way I see food.’ I became quit interested, but when she said ‘With my new chopsticks.’ it didn’t make sense at all. Later, when I replayed the words once more in my head, I realized my internal, automated translator had failed me again. The lady actually said, ‘The way I ate seafood…’ Should we therefore be extra careful when reading translated transcripts? How much really gets lost in translation?
