A Brush With Nature

How am I supposed to interact with wild animals? Those that are big and strong enough to eat me, I’ll give them a pass to begin with and those armed with various amounts of deadly venom as well. If I’m nice to them, does this mean the other ‘animal’ ‘thinks’ all members of my species are hug-able?
